How do you change the default Autocorrect language for Office 2013 programs such as Word and OneNote?

I live in a french speaking country so my Microsoft Office 2013 has automatically put french as my default Autocorrect language in Word, Onenote, PowerPoint and Excel. The problem with this is that I write in English most often and therefore find it extremely tiresome to have to change the language from French to English every time I open a new page/document. Is there a way of changing the default Autocorrect language? (Keeping in mind that Autocorrect language isn't the same as spelling language.) Thanks for any assistance.

    Hi VicFranc,

To set your proofing language you do it by going to:

    1. Place the cursor in the location where you want to start typing in a different language, or if you already have text, select the text.
    2. On the Review tab, in the Language group, click Language, then click Set Proofing Language.
    3. In the Editing Language pane, select the language that you want to use.

Hi- I have been having similar problem. However it now solved. I am using Office 2010

    1. Open any word document in Word
    2. Select the "Review" button on the top
    3. Click on the Language button and Select "set proofing language"
    4. On the language dialogue box - Select "English UK" or your desire language.
    5. At the bottom of the dialogue box - Click "Set As Default" button
    6. Then click "OK" - You will see a message that your auto-correct language has been changed, just accept by clicking "OK".

    I hope this helps.

I found answer here: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140113151226AALT99B Need to ensure the language you mainly write in is default - while the keyboard layout is corresponding to your physical keyboard.

Yes but this doesn't solve the problem as unfortunately "editing language" is not the same as "AutoCorrect language". My problem can be found when you go into :

File menu > Options command > Proofing option- Then when I click on the button AutoCorrect Options the menu tells me that my AutoCorrect language is French. Thus I know where this language is controlled- but I don't know how to change it to English.
