I have two columns of data that I'm creating a scatter plot with. I then want to use a third column to label my points. Excel doesn't seem to support this feature.

I want to make a chart like this.

    Hi,

Create your scatter chart using the 2 columns height and weight.

Right click any data point and click 'Add data labels and Excel will pick one of the columns you used to create the chart.

Right click one of these data labels and click 'Format data labels' and in the context menu that pops up select 'Value from cells' and select the column of names and click OK.

Back in the context menu un-check the series that Excel chose as a data label and your done and end up with what looks like mine.

Thanks for the help. However, Excel 2013 does not have an option 'Value from cells.'

The only options I have under "Label Options" are

    Series Name

    X value

    Y value

    Legend Key

    Separator

    Followed by label position.

    Alternatively, use the chart labeler
