How do I delete all hidden rows

I have a BIG spreadsheet with multiple row data entries.  I'm only interested in the first row in each entry.  Entries consist of 2 to 4 rows each.

How can I create a second spreadsheet just containing only the first row of each entry?

I appreciate your help.

Ashish, I finally got the F5 copy method to work for copying just the visible cells after figuring out the correct key sequence:

    1. Select the desired cell range in the table with hidden rows
    2. Press F5 to bring up the Go To dialog box.
    3. Click the "Special" button
    4. Click the "Select only visible ..." button
    5. Then Copy and Paste the cells

I have found no way to copy only entire visible rows.

So I'm going to go with the F5 method and consider my question answered.  This solution is quite satisfactory.

Thank you for your and Mike's help

    Hi,

Paste a screenshot of your dataset.

I can't get either method to work.

Re suggestion 1: The only way I can get the first method to work is to individually select and copy one row at a time and then pasting each into a new sheet.

Re suggestion 2: I am unable to find any way to select just the visible cells.

    1. First I selected the entire sheet and clicked Unmerge cells
    2. Pressing F5 brings up the Go To dialog box.
    3. Then clicking the Special button presents several options
    4. Then clicking the "Select only visible ..." selects the entire worksheet closing the Go To box
    5. Then selecting Copy presents the message "We can't do that a merged cell"

Since I already unmerged everything, I don't know what else to try. other than going row by row deleting the unwanted row in a long spreadsheet.

    Appreciate your thoughts?

    Hi,

If all you want to do is copy the visible rows to another worksheet you can do a simple copy and paste.

Select the entire row by clicking on the row number and dragging down and when you've done that then right click and copy, go to your new sheet and select a cell in column A and right click, Paste.

If you only want to select part rows then it's a bit different. Select a cell then drag to select all the columns/rows you want and when you've done that then

F5 - Special - Select visible cells and then right click and copy and paste.
