I created a brochure-like doc in word on my mac using text boxes, but when I go to print it, there are boxes/columns of blank space that don't seem to line up with any actual boxes of text I created.  This is driving me crazy because all my text appears normal in preview and on my screen and then big chunks are missing when i go to print.  When I try to forward it to others, some of the text doesn't show up for them either.  Have spent a long time on this project and would love some help.  Also, how do you move the cursor (to create new page) without moving text boxes?  Maybe word just isn't the right software.....

I believe you're dealing with 2 separate issues...

The printing issue is most likely due to a Preference setting. Text Boxes are graphic objects, so in order for them to be printed go to Word> Preferences - Print, then check the box for Drawing Objects. You may also want to check the one for Print background colors & images, depending on whether there is any graphic content in the Header/Footer.

That should have no effect on viewing the document on screen for you or anyone else, though. My impression is that this is a separate issue, but it's difficult to determine without details pertaining to the systems having a problem displaying the content. Generally, it is symptomatic of font problems but also could be due to software version and/or update level as well as other contributing factors. If the document displays correctly on 1 Mac the problem is most likely local to those which are unable to display it. There really isn't much you can do to control how a Word document displays on another user's computer.

Quite frankly, unless the recipients are intended to edit/revise the document I wouldn't send them a Word document file in the first place. It would be more efficacious, practical & secure to generate a PDF & forward copies of that.

If the file doesn’t contain any proprietary or confidential information, why not post it onto a file sharing service such as OneDrive or DropBox so we can have a look at it.

I’m thinking that wrapping options on the text boxes might not be optimally set.
