@Singh, Rohita The Face API is a part of the computer vision service. This service can determine the above characteristics, but some of this functionality will soon be retired like the current capabilities that predict emotion, gender, age, smile, facial hair, hair and makeup etc. Existing customers have until June 30, 2023 to discontinue use of these capabilities before they are retired.

New customers who require access to the same need to submit an intake form which is limited based on eligibility and usage criteria in order to support our Responsible AI principles.
Face service is only available to Microsoft managed customers and partners. Use the Face Recognition intake form to apply for access.

The Face API, as part of a broader computer vision service, offers a range of capabilities for analyzing human faces in images. It can determine various characteristics such as emotion, gender, age, presence of a smile, facial hair, hair, and makeup. However, it's important to note that some of these functionalities, including the ability to predict emotion, gender, age, smile, facial hair, hair, and makeup , are planned to be retired in the near future.

The retirement of these features from the Face API reflects a growing awareness and sensitivity around the ethical use of AI in recognizing and analyzing human attributes. This move is likely influenced by concerns regarding privacy, consent, and the potential for biases in AI systems. By limiting or removing these capabilities, developers and users of the Face API are encouraged to use the technology in a more responsible and ethically sound manner.
