Can I use a "program I made myself" using Visual Studio Community at work?

Hello,

I work for a company whose size does not fall under the license of the Visual Studio Community.

However, I would like to create an office add-in file (for outlook, power point, excel) that is not directly related to the work of the company, but that helps make the work a little easier.

So, after installing the Visual Studio Community at my home, not the company, and developing only at home, I want to use only the result (such as .exe, .xlam, ppam files / not visual studio files) in the company.

  1. Can I use the program I developed personally using the Visual Studio Community at work? (If development is done at home)
  2. Can I share my program with my co-workers at work, and they can use it?

I checked the license document for the use of the Visual Studio Community program, but it is difficult to find a license mention for an individual's creation made using the Visual Studio Community, so I leave an inquiry.

Thank you.

Have a good day.

Provided you didn't build an app for sale by a company that exceeds the restrictions of Community then you're fine. Basically you're good to use Community unless you are build an app to make money and your company can afford to buy Professional+.

    1. Yes
    2. Yes

You cannot sell the app as a product of your company. You could sell the app as your own personal project (or open source it) using Community as well.
