End of basic authentication october 1st imap

Hi,
One of my external app, is using the imap protocol to conect to my office365 mailbox through the basic authen.
This external app can only use the basic auth.
Is there any alternative or is it possible to ask to microsoft a delay in order to find a solution?

    One more thing Please where I nees your lights.
    One the first part of the article, you copied to me, september is not mentionned.
    But after in the article september is mentionned and the workflow is not really clear.
    Is there any dead line end of september to keep the bzsic auth activated or not

    Hi there,
    On Oct 1st, Basic Auth will be turned off for everyone and all protocols except SMTP AUTH.
    After that, if you need to use basic auth for IMAP, you will be able to re-enable it one more time until the end of 2022. After that, its disabled forever.
