    @MITTAL, MUNISH

    Q: Unable to enable Diagnostics extension on RHEL 8 OS

    A: I tried reproducing it on my side and I got the same error.
    I was then able to confirm with the Product team that Diagnostics Extension for Linux is currently not supported at this point with RHEL 8 Operating system.

    The official documentation has been updated with this information here : Supported operating systems

    Alternatives: Diagnostics extension is supported with RHEL 7.

    Will this be supported in future for RHEL 8?
    Unfortunately, at the moment, the focus is on building the capabilities for the new Azure Monitor agent since the Log Analytics agent is on a deprecation path and won’t be supported after August 31th 2024. While it’s not out of the questions for the agent to be updated, there is a high likelihood that it will not be. I will keep you updated on the same.

    If you have any other question, please let me know in the comments and I will be happy to help.
