To narrow down this issue, let's verify the followings:
- You could open the file normally, just met this error when tried to edit the file, is it right?
- Are you using On-prem AD synced user account to do this action? If editing the file using an organized account(M365 account), does this issue happen? Please have a try and let's know the result.
- Does this issue happen just for one user or for all users? If possible, please use different user accounts to test and compare the results.
- When editing other type of files like PPT and Word, does this issue occur?
- Please try to test using different PC and compare the result.
Please try to clear Office cache and repair Office under Control Panel, then test again.
