Increased disk size but the VM showing the old size still

I have increased the size of OsDisk attached to my VM to 512GB, but when I log in to my VM, the C drive still showing the old size.

  • I verified the Disk is set as the OS disk for the VM of concern
  • Azure portal shows the correct size (the new one), but when you login to VM, the C drive is still showing the old one

Am I missing something here? The process was straight forward to resize the disk... Now for the context, I did resize the VM itself as well... And that change reflected correctly... Only the disk didn't

    Hi @Eugene Qilo
You need to go to disk management (diskmgmt.msc) on windows and manual increase the size after a change from the portal
