Workfolders on windows server

Hello,

I already found that workfolders application available on desktop edition only. This is very strange, becouse some users work on RDP servers and thay also can logon on Windows 10 computer. Solution that I seen: "Map network share as network drive" or "create link to network share"

Some application store fie on workfolder directory and remember location like "c:\users\username\workfolders", so I can`t just map drive ort create some link with UNC to workfolders share.

This is epic fail, if users cannot use workingfolders and they need to configure programs each time after logging into the terminal server after desktop or vice versa.

Is it really, nothing has changed and there is no solution to this problem since 2012?

Basically, he's asking why there is a native Work Folders client applet installed on all of the client editions of Windows (10), but not on the server editions of Windows (i.e. the "Work Folders" applet that's located in the Control Panel). If Microsoft provided the native Work Folders client on Windows Server (2016, 2019, etc.), then folks could use it when connecting directly to the server via Remote Desktop Services (RDS).

I want to find a solution to help remote desktop users use workfolders.

Mounting drives and linking to a network folder are not suitable. Because some programs will remember that the workfolder is in the user's profile.
I will have problems when users with a roaming profile will work on a terminal server and on a regular workstation.

I can't even use appdate\local or roaming.

In the case of terminal servers, I could use ue-v for synchronization.
But NO! We will not let you create a folder there!

You leave no chance of using workfolders. It's easier to write a script than to use your technologies such as Workfolders and UE-V.
