Are there any reference tables that would help us understand how many interactive sessions are possible with “D8s v3: 8 vCPUS, 32 GB RAM, 64 GB Temp Storage”? [2208080060000653] ]

Hello,

Regarding Virtual Desktop in the Azure Pricing calculator, in this scenario, the session is configured to “Multi-session” and the work load type is configured to “Light”, and the instance selected is “D8s v3: 8 vCPUS, 32 GB RAM, 64 GB Temp Storage”. All other values are set to the default value.

It is our understanding that in the Pricing Calculator, the difference between the “Standard” Pricing and “Dev / Test” Pricing is the monthly cost of the OS license for the “Multi-session” connection.

In the “Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session FAQ” https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/virtual-desktop/windows-10-multisession-faq, 2nd FAQ:
“How many users can simultaneously have an interactive session on Windows 10 Enterprise multi-session?”

it states:

“How many interactive sessions that can be active at the same time relies on your system's hardware resources (vCPU, memory, disk, and vGPU), how your users use their apps while signed in to a session, and how heavy your system's workload is.”

Are there any tables that would help us evaluate how many interactive sessions are possible with a “D8s v3: 8 vCPUS, 32 GB RAM, 64 GB Temp Storage”?

Hi @Peter Thurwachter (MINDTREE LIMITED) ,

information regarding the sizing of the Azure AVD sessions hosts yiou can find herte:
    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/virtual-machine-recs

Depending on the workload type (light, medium, heavy and power) you will find some recommendations for single and multi-session.

For multisession and the D8s v3 you find the example number of users/vCPU here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/remote/remote-desktop-services/virtual-machine-recs#multi-session-recommendations.

In addition to your question I would recommend to use the D8ds_v5 VM SKU instead of the D8s_v3 .
