Hello,
when I login to Teams client (web or full version), I cant create a team. in lower left corner there is this option saying "Join or create a Team", but I have option only to join a team, not to create one.
Out organization doesnt have any policy setup (no security group) that would prevent users from doing so, and I the account I am using in Teams has all features set to On (Office 365 E1 license).
Anyone knows what may be causing this?
Many thanks,
Tomas

    Hi Tomas,

Can other users create a Team without such problem?
And can you create a Microsoft 365 group in OWA(Outlook on the web)?
How to create a Microsoft 365 group in OWA: Create a group in Outlook

If not either, I suppose the possible cause may still be due to your organization policy.
Here is the link with detailed information on how to limit group creation: Manage who can create Microsoft 365 Groups

    Hello,
many thanks for all the hints. Actually, the reason is quite simple but I missed this - in Azure AD group settings, we have "Microsoft 365 Groups: Users can create Microsoft 365 groups in Azure portals, API or PowerShell" set to NO.
So, thats it I guess :)
But thanks again for the discussion!
    Tomas

    Hello,
thank you for your answer. Actually, when checking in Outlook, I cant see the New group option at all:

How to check if the restrictive policy for group creation has been applied to my tenant?
    Thank you,
    Tomas

Hello, thank you very much for your reply. In fact, I have found quite a strange thing - when I run the cmdlets you specified, I get this:
    Name Value
    ---- -----
    NewUnifiedGroupWritebackDefault true
    EnableMIPLabels false
    CustomBlockedWordsList
    EnableMSStandardBlockedWords false
    ClassificationDescriptions
    DefaultClassification
    PrefixSuffixNamingRequirement
    AllowGuestsToBeGroupOwner false
    AllowGuestsToAccessGroups False
    GuestUsageGuidelinesUrl
    GroupCreationAllowedGroupId
    AllowToAddGuests False
    UsageGuidelinesUrl
    ClassificationList
    EnableGroupCreation false

so EnableGroupCreation is on False....but at the same time, GroupCreationAllowedGroupId is blank....which seems like groiup creation in general is disabled
    How is that possible?
    Many thanks,
    Tomas
