Group policy management console is not accessible.

When openining GPMC it opens a popup with message "Unspecified error"

Next the console opens but it doesn't show any gpos and containers under domain. Also when "Group policy inheritance" tab is clicked it shows following

After clicking "OK" it does nothing.
When the domain is selected and refreshed it shows the following

But the default GPOs all work fine. When I use other mmc snap-in to create GPO, it works fine. But the GPMC doesn't works and doesn't show anything.

Tried steps:

Reinstalling GPMC and it doesn't work.
Deleted the other created GPOs, still didn't work.
Executed dcgpofix and still didn't work.

Hi, a have same errors. How I fixed these errors:

short answer > replace gplink parameter in ou, adsiedit > default naming context > ou properties (from domain to sub-ou). see screenshot.

How I fixed this in my domain:

backup (copy) all existing gpo from c:\windows\sysvol\policies to c:\temp\gpo-backup

recreate default policies, dcgpofix

delete old policies, c:\windows\sysvol\policies (filter by date)

delete old policies in schema, adsiedit > default naming context > system > policies. (new guids in c:\windows\sysvol\policies, delete all other)

locate and fix gplink parameter in all ou (from domain root to below) and fix value to <not set>

exceptions: domain root (only default domain policy guid) + default domain controllers policy (only default domain controllers policy guid).

GPMC installed machine is Windows Server 2022.

Does this issue occur to all users?

Try to delete the contents of the folder "c:\windows\system32\grouppolicy" and see if that helps.

System file check is a utility built into the Operating System that will check for system file corruption. The sfc /scannow command (System File Check) scans the integrity of all protected operating system files and replaces incorrect, corrupted, changed, or damaged versions with the correct versions where possible.

-Press the Windows key and X at the same time.
-Choose Command Prompt (Admin) from the context menu.
-In the command prompt, type sfc /scannow and hit Enter.
-Exit command prompt.
-Restart the PC and see if this helps you.

Does this issue occur to all users?

yes this issue is occuring for all the users... including the domain admin users and the main administrator users.

Did delete the contents of the "C:\windows\system32\grouppolicy" and it still didn't work.
Also scanned and the result came are attached in the screenshot.
