Teams Tied to Old Account Even After Logging into New Account

Whenever I set up a new device and log into Teams with my work email address, Teams shows a very old, no-longer-used temporary Hotmail address that I created long ago to log into Microsoft's Volume Licensing Service Center. At that time, VLSC only worked with Microsoft accounts (hotmail.com, live.com, outlook.com, etc.) and not my work email (me@myworkdomain.com). This occurs even after I select "Use another account". I log in with my work email and the old email address still shows up. It's very strange.

I would like to delete or untie this very old account once and for all so I can log into Teams with my correct, current work email account. Thank you very much for your assistance. 240176-teams-hotmail.png

    Hi,

You can clear the Teams cache and try again :

    1. If Teams is still running, right-click the Teams icon in the taskbar, and then select Quit.
    2. Open the Run dialog box by pressing the Windows logo key +R.
    3. In the Run dialog box, enter %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams, and then select OK.
    4. Delete all files and folders in the %appdata%\Microsoft\Teams directory.
    5. Restart Teams.
