Can I share Self-Hosted Integration runtime different Subscriptions ADF residing in same Active Directory?

Hi Team,

Currently, I have 2 different subscriptions and both have a ADF. All the subscriptions are part of the same Azure AD.

I have provisioned a beefed-up Virtual Machine in one of my subscriptions and configured one ADF to use that VM as a Self-Hosted IR.

I wish to use the same VM as a Self-Hosted IR in my other ADF as well.

How can setup shared IR between different subscription ADF?

Hey,
As long as the ADFs are within the same tenant, you can share the Integration run time between multiple ADFs even though they are in different subscriptions.

Note: The tenant needs to be the same

@Nandan Hegde Please inform what permissions are required in the below use case of sharing the SHIR.

ADF-1 , subscription-1, SHIR installed.

ADF-2 , subscription-2 , will be using SHIR of above through linked SHIR process.

subscription-1 and subscription-2 are under same tenant.

what permissions are required and at what level for the ADF1 to grant the permissions to ADF2 to reference the SHIR in the above use case ?

Please confirm- User access administrator role under subscripition-1 would be fine.

Hello Kashish,

Good day!

As long as the ADFs are within the same tenant, you can share the IRs across ADFs.

Now one needs to have the below permissions:

Read access on Azure AD ( to search for the users/ADF/Managed identity)

A role greater than normal contributor role and lower than owner role within the RG in which the ADF (hosting the SHIR which needs to be shared)

No need of any major aspect/access at subscription level but RG level is sufficient
