Outlook error “Cannot send this item” when replying to an email

Hello.

I'm facing a strange issue.

In our domain we have approximately 100 desktop and laptops.

All of them has Office 2010 with SP2 Most of them with Office updates.

In a couple of them (without updates) in Outlook when the user try to forward an email with attachment some times show the error "Cannot send this item" problem that if I do the exact same process again it will not appear.

PS: When i make office update in one of our users never had the same issue again.

Can anyone tell me why i face this error only in 2 pc's when i have at least 15 of them with the same configuration Office 2010 + SP2 WITHOUT updates??

Quite honestly, this could be a bug with the software. Outlook 2010 end of life was October 13, 2020, so Microsoft has dropped all support and bug fixes for this product.

My suggestion would be to update your software to avoid this problem.

Welcome to our forum!

Agree with DillonJS, please kindly understand that since the support for Office 2010 ended on October 13, 2020, and there will be no extensions and extended security updates, you can still use your office programs. For your better user experience, it is recommended that you use a newer version of office.

And according to your description, i have done research and found a similar known issue as yours:

If that's exactly what your problem is, try the workaround mentioned in this official article. More information: Outlook error “Cannot send this item” when replying to an email.

In addition, i notice that after updating the Office, the issue gone away. Updating Office to the latest version in my opinion is the most effective solution, especially if you are more inclined to continue using Office 2010.

Hello again and thanks for your answers.

As i told in the first post the issue was gone with the windows updates.
Any idea why this issue not affected the others computers with exactly same office configuration???
