Windows 10 pro.

128gb SSD.

This is regarding the system partition only.

SSD is showing the system partition as full, but based on what's on the computer, I should have well over 60gb free.

Did a disk cleanup, clean up system files.

SSD so I'm guessing defragmenting it won't do anything.

I'd like to avoid 3ed party programs.

    Hello there,

Did you perform clean installation recently?

The System Reserved partition is created during a clean/fresh install of Windows , and it takes up a particular amount of hard disk space.

You cannot directly delete the System Reserved partition under Windows Disk Management since it's hidden and protected with no drive letter.

Try to disable hibernation and see if that helps
Here are the steps to delete hiberfil.sys file.

Step 1. Go to Start menu, type cmd and right-click on the results "Command Prompt" and select "Run as administrator".

Step 2. Then type powercfg -h off and press "Enter".

If you have big Hidden Files and Folders, then delete them.

    Delete Hibernate File

Uninstall some programs and create space.

Reset the Virtual Memory paging file:

    To do this: -

Right-click "This PC” and choose “Properties”.

Click “Advanced system setting” in the left panel--> “Advanced” in the next mini window--> “Settings” under “Performance”.

In the “Performance Options” windows, locate “Advanced” and click “Change”.

Locate the drive letter of SSD, deselect “Automatically manage paging file size for all drive”, tick “Custom size” and enter the initial size and maximum size, and then click “Set” and “OK”.
