Default Value on Choice Column in SharePoint list will not show in the list.

Question

I have multiple choice columns in a share point list. The first option is 'Pending User Response'. I have selected it as Default Value. But when I go back to the list, the default value does not show. When I select a blank cell, it then shows the 3 options.

Hi @Gabe Hayden ,

The default value will only be displayed when you create a new item in the list, the value of the original items will not be displayed. Therefore, when such a column is added later in the creation of the list, the value of the existing items can only be manually selected.

The defined default values might show up only once you leave the row within the grid-view of your SharePoint list.

Im working from an excel sheet that was imported to sharepoint list. I tried that method, but it didnt do anything. May only work with lists created in sharepoint
