    Hi @Anonymous ,

I've seen 3 different naming conventions for shared printers so far:

    • Naming the shared printer like Pinter01, Pinter02, Pinter03, ...
    • Naming based on department like FinancePrt01, HrPrt01, ...
    • Naming based on location like B01F01R12, B01F01R10, B02F02R09, ... (B = Building, F = Floor, R = Room)

Naming by location makes it easy to find the printer and the printed documents. For instances if departments are spread over different locations. You have to maintain the name of the printer if moved to a different location.
Naming by department makes it easy to find the printer and the printed documents if the department is centralized at the same and known location. You have to maintain the name of the printer if moved to a different department.

    Hello there,

Do you need the steps to rename your domain Printers? If you are in search of a good name for your printer this forum might not be the right place.

    To rename a printer:
-Click the Start button, type Devices, and Printers, and select the same from the list.
-Right-click a printer, and then click Printer properties.
-Click the General tab, and then type the new name in the text box.
    -Click Apply/OK.
