azure migrate appliance- domain and standalone servr (workgroup server: validation failed)

Hi

I have a VM Warer environment with 71 servers.
These srver are in 2 different Windws domains and around 15 are "stand alone" only in a workgroup.

I have created a Azure migrate appliance for VMware.
Credentials are for VMware and the Windows domains.
Works fine

Then I saw these 15 workgroup server. We have added in all these server 1 common local admin account
I have added this credental into the appliance too (Windows Server) with a friendly name (Winadmin) and the login credentials.
No validation for this acount

In Azure Portal I have restarted the appliance services....

But in discovered servers all these workgroup server have still "validation failed" and "Data not available"

When I start to click "Start Discovery" in the appliance website: "No new discovery sources has been added"

How can I scan now these workgroup server?
Or is it only a question of time?

Please confirm the user account has the documented privileges and check registry for UAC and appliance. Confirm the WinRM is working fine.

Add host name and public IP in hosts, then you can pass the validation by using host name and local host, let us know if this fails.

The user account has local admin rights

Validation: When I enter credentials I can choose between Windows Domain (which is working) and Windows non-Domain Server.Here I can type friendly name, username, password
But NO target (as an IP or hostname)

You mean add all IPs and Hostname into the hosts of the appliance?

As I understand.....the appliance will try all stored credentials to check, which is working and uses this. Correct?
Or how I can "force" to a special target (IP/Hostname) use this credential with friendly name "ABC"
This Windows I dont have when Im using VMware based machines.

If the appliance is in any domain, then you would have to make sure there is no policy in accessing those servers that are in Work Group.

Also, please check if you're able to run these wmi commands from the local user that you're using - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/migrate/troubleshoot-appliance#remediation-18
