VisualStudio Subscription on Work account

I have a MSDN-Enterprise subscription. I tried to utilize my Azure benefit by activating an account through the subscription. But instead of creating a new account, it created a MSDN Subscription within my organization account. Is there a way for me to create a sandbox Azure environment outside of my work environment? I'm discouraged from doing anything in Azure for fear of messing something up with my work account.
