SharePoint designer 2013 Workflow to content type

SharePoint designer 2013 workflow cannot be associated to a content type and SharePoint 2010 workflows will be retired soon.
Need a solution to populate a date column based on another column . This should be at content type level since this is going to be used for all documents inheriting this content type.

SharePoint 2013 workflow can be associated to a specific content type while being created via FILE > Add Item > Workflows > Reusable Workflow, after you open the target site in SharePoint Designer 2013.

Thanks. I am aware of this and have also tested, however it does not work.
Once I create workflow using above steps and publish it. If I re open the WF/designer it auto resets the workflow settings to 'content type=All' and the steps in the workflow will have all the columns and value to blank.
Also if I go into site collection settings-Site Content type-Document-workflow settings- I don see this workflow to associate to the content type.
This is not a stable solution.

@prajakta ubare Thank you for the information.

I’m afraid there is no other option to associate SharePoint 2013 Workflow with a specific content type for the time being, and also this feature is not yet supported in Microsoft Flow.
Currently, we can only set individual workflow for each library to update the column value.

What can be the optimum way of archiving documents in SP online for a site collection admin and not SharePoint admin.

I would recommend using information management policies at site level on the document content type. Still it is a good method when it comes to archiving documents.

Also, Power Automate (Flow) is a powerful tool which can be easily used for document management.
