Since some time in the teams linux client I cannot share images or files in general with other people by dragging the files into the chat.
There also is no manual upload button. This button exists in my os x installation. Is there a way to fix this?

At this time the official supported linux distros are debian/redhat. This sound like a feature/application issue and I'm not sure there will be much of a fix for your case.
You can try leaving feedback for the MS Teams team at https://feedbackportal.microsoft.com/feedback/forum/ad198462-1c1c-ec11-b6e7-0022481f8472 but I don't think Ubuntu is supported.
One suggestion is: Is your Microsoft Teams .deb package completely up-to-date or are you running an old version?
Perhaps try running:
sudo dpkg --remove teams and try re-installing the newest package.

As above said, you could try to reinstall the newest version of Teams client to see if this issue can be fixed.
Hi DillonJS, thanks for your answer! I installed teams via the snap package manager, I am not sure if a newer Deb file exists that would solve the issue, but I will check that and leave feedback here and at the ms teams team if the issue persists / if I have the latest version installed.

I am the only one using Teams for Linux in my organization. On different platforms, sharing images and files works for me and for everybody else in my organization.

No, in the Teams web client sharing files works.
As above said, you could try to reinstall the newest version of Teams client to see if this issue can be fixed.
I double checked, and I have got the most recent version of teams installed (1.5.00.23861) that is available for linux.
I think I made an error in the description of the problem. My problem is that I cannot send files to specific persons outside my organization. I did not realize this at first, but I now realized that it sharing images works as soon as no user outside my organization is inside a group chat. Do you know if it is possible to change this in the organization settings?
