Sound quality issue when using Surface Dock ?

Hi All,

I'm having an issue with my computer sound where it is always crackling and distorted using the following setup:

SmartTV ---(HDMI-MiniDP-directcable)---> Surface Dock 2 ---> Surface Pro Tablet  
SmartTV ---HDMI-Cable---->Comsol display adapter---> Surface Dock 2 ---> Surface Pro Tablet  

However, when I go direct with the below setup, the sound quality is clear:

SmartTV ---(HDMI-MiniDP)-----> Surface Pro Tablet  
SmartTV ---HDMI-Cable---->display adapter---> Surface Pro Tablet  

But it is quite annoying since it defeats the purpose of having the Surface Dock as the single source of connectivity.
