Scheduling a scan on an excluded folder

I have several folders which I have made exclusions for in windows defender. Nothing in these folders should change or be added.

I would like to schedule a periodic scan just to be sure nothing has been added which might be a problem.

The folder contents are very large (7TB) so I only want to scan when no usage is unlikely.

How do I force a scan of an excluded folder?

Sorry, I feel like this is so obvious but I don't see it.

    Hi,

I dont think so this is possible, excluded folders are always excluded they are not in scope of scan. Read here AV Scanning and Exclusions configure-exclusions-microsoft-defender-antivirus.

Microsoft Defender Antivirus includes many automatic exclusions based on known operating system behaviors and typical management files, such as those used in enterprise management, database management, and other enterprise scenarios and situations.

Defining exclusions lowers the protection offered by Microsoft Defender Antivirus. You should always evaluate the risks that are associated with implementing exclusions, and you should only exclude files that you are confident are not malicious.
