Hi All

i have a sharepoint site and the requirement from user is that the documents in SharePoint site should be seen by the members only.
When i check the privacy settings of the unified group it is set to Private - Only members can see content. Any other settings do i need to check?

    Hi @Glenn Maxwell

If you want to check the permissions of the document library:

    1) Go to Documents

    2) Go to Library Settings > More library settings

    3) Go to Permissions for this document library

    4) Here you can check the permissions of the library and who has control over it (read, write, etc). You can also remove certain groups from here.

    Hi @Glenn Maxwell
Yes, we could use privacy settings to let only group members to see content:

    1. In “Private” SharePoint sites, The Owners of the Office 365 group gets added as “Site Collection Administrators” and the members of the Office 365 Group gets added to the default Members group of the SharePoint site – anyone else can’t access the SharePoint site.
    2. In “Public” sites, the Owners of the Office 365 group gets under “Site Collection Administrators” and Members of the Office 365 group gets added to the default members group of the site (Similar to “Private”). In addition, the “Everyone except external users” group is added under the members group of the site.

However, as it is mentioned by DillonJS, despite a site is set to private, members could also invite other users in the same organization to this site. So to be careful, we still need to have a check for the site permission.
