Hi, I am encountering error while installing Microsoft SQL Server 2019. I am trying to uninstall the existing SQL Microsoft Server 19 (64-bit) however I think I have accidentally deleted some of the folders already hence it is also not allowing me to Uninstall. The error says "this file does not have an app associated with it performing this action. Please install an app or if one is already installed, create an association in the default apps setting page".

I would really appreciate your help on to resolve this issue. Thank you!

    Hi @Dela Cruz, Michelle ,
So I think your problem is that you got some errors in SQL installation and you had decided to uninstall the SQL firstly and reinstall it to fix the problem. Yes, that's one of the ways to deal with the error ,but maybe not the best. And it's ok, we can continue this soultion, cuz you may have deleted some folders.

Anyway, I wanna know that did you delete the SQL in the Control Panel like the following picture shows:
    242743-image.png
If you hadn't used this way, pls delete all the programs connected with SQL and try reinstalling again.

If you had tried this way and you got the error messgae you mentioned above that "this file does not have an app associated with it performing this action. Please install an app or if one is already installed, create an association in the default apps setting page".
You can try deleting the SQL information in the Registry by searching regedit on you local computer:

Finally you can try installing SQL Server 2019 again.

If you have any issues during the process pls feel free to ask me.
