Our network architect suggested to use Cisco router as DHCP for SCCM OSD build factory. We are noticing that IP assignment is becoming an ongoing issue.
Has someone else tried this kind of setup? What is your experience?
Is it better to use Windows based DHCP for this scenario? Although, Business doesnt have Money to setup a new Windows server (DHCP). Please share your views.

    Hi @myquestforLearning ,

Thanks for posting in Q&A platform.

This is Sunny from windows network team. I discussed with our SCCM OSD engineer and found that in theory you could use Cisco router as DHCP for SCCM OSD and the prerequisite is ensuring that client, DHCP server and PXE-enabled DP are in the same subnet in OSD. If they are in different subnet, then IP helper will be needed. As long as the client can obtain available IP address from DHCP, the SCCM OSD will work normally.

I also found a video regarding of Cisco DHCP setting for SCCM OSD and an article regarding of troubleshooting PXE boot issues in Configuration Manager for your reference. Please kindly check if they are helpful.
