Issue with Upgrading SCOM microsoft monitoring agent

Hi All,

We currently have the Microsoft Monitoring agent installed on one of our servers, we would like to upgrade the same to the latest version (as shown in screenshot 1).

We are receiving the following error when we try to execute the file please assist for the same.

    Hi Ravi (@shankar431 ),

    ok then the message is clearer now. I am not quite sure why the agent cannot be upgaded directly in this case, but I would simply do the following in your case:

    1. Uninstall the SCOM console
    2. Upgrade the agent
    3. Installl the console again

    You need not more than 5 Minutes for all 3x steps and you are avoiding troubleshooting, log analysis and other troubleshooting actions. You are not loosing any data by doing this, so there are no arguments against this.

    Any chance one of those services is actually installed on the server. SCSM in particular will cause this error.

    Hi @shankar431 ,

    what is the role of this server? Does it have one of the rooles, listed in the error message? Can it be that it is an old SCOM Management Server?
