Azure Synapse Managed VNET - Connect to Snowflake without Private Endpoint

We have a synapse analytics workspace created with a managed virtual network and are attempting to create a linked service to Snowflake without using a private endpoint. We don't want to use Snowflake private endpoints because we're trying to keep our costs low so we're only using Snowflake's standard edition - private endpoints require business critical or higher.

I tried attaching a NAT gateway to the VNet's only subnet, but the linked service to Snowflake was unable to connect.

My question: is it possible to create a linked service to Snowflake without using a private endpoint even though synapse resides within a managed virtual network?

Out Snowflake account is hosted on Azure.

    Hi @Chris Burke ,

Thank you for posting query in Microsoft Q&A Platform.

When you Synapse Workspace in managed virtual network, all traffic from it will go via that Vnet only. Hence, it's not possible to have a linked service without using private endpoint.
