mendeley add-in is not installing in word

This error comes up when trying to install the mendeley plug-in on word on my personal Mac. I have contacted mac support and they said it was an issue with the microsoft software not my mac. Note: i created a new user and the add-in installed without any issues there.

Do you have any ideas what I may need to configure/re-configure on my current user profile to allow this add-in to come up and therefore install it?

    You can try installing Mendeley Plugin in MS word through Mendeley Desktop (as seen in the video below).
