Hi,

How does Windows Desktop work? Mean when I have limit the VM to 5 users at a time, how does a new VM spin up? or do I need to configure this? If so how.

Also if another VM is booted up, how does it shutdown when not in use? and boot back up

anonymous user Apologies for the delay in response and all the inconvenience caused because of the issue.

It depends whether the use case is to "expand" the host pool with a few more VMs based on the same image? Or is it to "replace" the host pool with a new number of VMs based off a new image?

    To "Expand":

    To replace:

Moreover you can refer to this doc as well Scroll down to the section create virtual machines for the host pool.

In order to understand WVD better you can refer to this doc as well.

    Hope it helps!!!

I already created a host pool which has 1 VM, how do I add more? It's on a free trial so maybe limit. When I click the Host Pool > session hosts current one VM ![26603-image.png][1] When I click add I get the error 'A registration key must be setup before adding a new VM to host pool' ![26662-image.png][2] Am I doing it right? Scaling, how does this work?

Anyone to shutdown VM after-hours and start up again by itself the next morning.

If a VM is idle say for 5 - 20 mins, would it shutdown by itself.
