I would like to build a Windows 10 Pro HyperV farm with many little Linux based routers for dedicated IPsec tunnels. Doing some digging around and unable to find information on properly licensing Windows 10 Pro Hyper V im curios if this forum can point share some links that breaks down licensing for Windows 10 HyperV with Linux OS. I know I need the OS license of course and then from what I can tell device cal for each VM I add.
Another question would be. The linux OS can run with 1 core and 256 kb of ram, is there a limit on how many I can add? I've seen in various website that you can build up to 1024 (<- seems nuts). I have successfully built a 2019 HyperV Server with four routers in a nested hyperV and it worked great until troubleshooting 2019 OS and the fact it is EOL. 2019 Pro only legally allows a few VM's and Datacenter is pretty expensive. Is it illegal to build 1024 host in Windows 10 in a business?
POC of running in non production Windows 10 HyperV with a Nested Windows 2019 HyperV with 4 public facing routers.
