I have the Acer Predator Triton 700 laptop with Intel Core i7-7700HQ @2.80GHz processor, the processor is shown as not supported for Windows 11.
Please add the processor in the supported list.

This is my current laptop: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7660U CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz am I to understand that it will not support Windows 11 upgrade and I need to purchase a whole new laptop????

I don't feel it's fair that we consumers have to pay for a choice that we didn't make. If HP is going to make this choice then they should be the ones to pay for the choice. I've already purchased a laptop, and have also spent a lot of extra money, hard work, and time into taking care of it over the years. I don't feel I should be forced to buy another one. Moreover, Microsoft/windows/hp only issues recalls for PC issues that pose a safety risk to consumers. Well if you ask me, personal data being vulnerable to breach due to missing out on crucial security updates and other critical updates that the windows 11 update would otherwise provide and ensure ,completely constitutes and denotes the definition of safety risk. Peoples identities and critical facets of their lives being thieved in this manner is a complete safety risk. It's in fact more than just a physical safety risk (only when recalls are issued, when physical safety risks are posed) it's a safety risk posed to all physical, mentally, emotionally, financially and socially). An individuals life could completely be ruined in the event that identity is thieved or other crucial personal data is theived. A person setting in prison due to the result of their identity being stolen or frauded is a completely physical safety risk. Not to mention the damage to the mind and body from the stress, worry and grief something like that would cause. Or how about the common treatment of individuals incarcerated for example, treatment from both other inmates and staff alike, sometimes and even often abuse and neglect, (left in a freezing jail cell, raped, left without their medication, beat by other inmates and sometimes staff needlessly and undeservingly). This was but one of a million possible outcomes of somebody's personal data and or identity being stolen or frauded. The possibilities are endless and what why, all because one day HP up and decided, oh, welp, that computers too old to product or update anymore. Entirely unfair. Age shouldn't matter, what should matter is the money the person's already forked over and the functionality of the computer. Moreover, HP should be bosting and parading and proud of the idea of a laptop reaching 'old agehood'. Moreover, I'm now honestly afraid to buy another HP computer, what if i were to go fork over another $600 or $1000 that i dont have for another computer and hp up and decides again in two or three years time that my laptop is too old to protect update or to care for anymore?? Having to buy more than one computer in only a decades time is entirely too much and absurd!!

The processor is selected by various parameters and the important one is DCH Design Principles.

Some of the 7th generation processors and all 8th generation Intel processors and their equivalent AMD are supported for Windows 11. It seems your Intel Core i7-7700HQ is not on the list and it might not support Windows 11.
