Files randomly become corrupted after I open my laptop

I have no idea what caused this but a month ago a lot of my files randomly became corrupted, causing some programs to not be able to launch. Some corrupted files are undelete and say that "file is corrupted and unreadable",so I have to run the
chkdsk command to fix it. The files become deleteable. However, it still causes crashes in my programs.
After a while, more and more files become corrupted, and I notice that it always happens when I start up my laptop or run the
chkdsk command. After a week, the problem became worse when I launched a game where it was completely fine before (even when the file corruption occurred) and made my laptop go bluescreen. I decided to launch a full scan with Microsoft Defender, but after an hour, my laptop went blue-screened every time. At one point, right clicking a file on the left taskbar in my file explorer cause my file explorer to freeze and crash.
Eventually, I decided to delete all files (format) on drive d and use the recovery system on drive c.

After that, I installed all my games and some programs that I normally use that shouldn't have contained any malware or viruses.
After a few days, everything seemed normal, but all of a sudden, after I started my laptop, one of my game files became corrupted and said that
(NAME).exe - Bad Image
(filelocation) is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error.
But it was a mod file for the game I downloaded, so it was easily taken care of and I dismissed it. However, just today, one of my game from
steam without any mods became corrupted and displayed the same message. I've tried almost everything I got from Google.
If anyone knows the source of the problem or how to fix it, please let me know.

After a while, more and more files become corrupted

This sounds like the start of a failed disk and or disk controller.

Could also be a failing disk controller. The pc manufacturer may provide some diagnostic tools.

    Hello Leoza,

By your description of CHKDSK fixing some of the issues after running, issue reappearing after formatting, it is highly possible that the hard drive is physically damaged and its condition deteriorates with each use.The damage may not have been from an impact, but sometimes a defect on the drive, or even a power supply fluke that alter the magnetization of the needle.

In order to confirm this, you can run CHKDSK on offline verification mode.

Create a windows installation media from: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 or https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows11

Insert your bootable Windows installation media (CD/DVD/USB drive) and restart your PC.

Press the F8 key multiple times before the Windows logo appears.

When prompted, select Repair your computer.

Click Troubleshoot and then Advanced Options.

    Then run: CHKDSK c: /f /r /x

On the final report, review if it states that bad sectors where found. If that is so, the hard drive is damaged and unreliable.
