Hi, I am running the setup.exe for upgrade of W10 to W11 in background, but the process end very fast. This doesn't work successfully. I run

  • C:\W11ISO\setup.exe /auto upgrade /copylogs 'C:\upgrade_log' /priority normal /noreboot /quiet /eula accept

I look the process names: The name process are: setup, setuphost and setupprep (alls)

But there are computers that this process missing. Or missing alls or only the setup or some their.

My question. Is...Why this occurs?

Also in GUI there are situations in that show:

I by GUI run again the setup.exe (by GUI) and show a popup with 3 options:

  1. Keep personals files and applications
  2. keep personals files
  3. do nothing

I want upgrade to W11 but keeping the personal files and applications, but this options is check. The others I can check it but I wan't check 2: /api/attachments/244805-captura-de-pantalla-2022-09-21-152730.png?platform=QnA

I understand that when the setup run it in background and after of 5s the process setup or setuphost or setupprep missing, is because is given the case told above. Also appears be that the setup.exe needs a computer reboot for the setup W11 configurate

Please, They tell me best because this happing? May be the case that the process is rebooting.
Also looking the files logs in C:\upgrade_log. How to I can know if the process to end successfully and to the reboot, the computer will process to upgrade? I undrestand that in the filelog C:\upgrade_log\Windows\Panther\setupact.log if contents "ImageExit: Initializing PostReboot: [FALSE]" means the setup end successfully. (Is False because in the command run it with /noreboot flag). Because if this would fail before the reboot in the logfile should'nt show
Thank you very much.

    Hello there,

If the progress of Windows Upgrade Assistant is stuck for more than four hours, here's something you can try. Note: Make sure you follow these steps before you restart your PC. Otherwise, the Media folder might be unavailable.

Open File Explorer, type C:\$GetCurrent, and then press Enter.

Copy and paste the Media folder to the desktop. If you don't see the folder, select View and make sure the check box next to Hidden items is selected.

Restart your PC, open File Explorer, type C:\$GetCurrent in the address bar, and then press Enter.

Copy and paste the Media folder from the desktop to C:\$GetCurrent.

Open the Media folder and double-click Setup.

Follow the instructions to start the upgrade. On the Get important updates screen, select Not right now, and then select Next.

Follow the instructions to finish upgrading to Windows 10. After you're done, make sure to install available updates. Select the Start button, and then select Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates.
