Hello

We are running an evaluation copy of windows server 2016. We have rearmed the license and extended the time for the trial version for several times. Now the rearm count has reached the limit. Now we want to update our current version to fully licensed version. We have received the product key

This is our current edition

I know i have to run the following command to update the server

DISM /online /Set-Edition:<edition ID> /ProductKey:XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX /AcceptEula

My question is what is <edition ID> in my case?

We have bought the license key from here : https://www.coreyz.com/Purchase-Windows-Server-2016

Kind regards

    Hi @Bashabi Sarker ,

The "EditionID" is what you will see from the DISM /Online /Get-TargetEditions command.

Since you currently have a Windows Server 2016 Standard evaluation, your EditionID is ServerStandardEval, if you want to upgrade your evaluation to a fully licensed edition, you will need to change it to the ServerStandard EditionID.
