Hello HI Engineer,

Can the Active directory debug passwd.log be emptied or deleted?

Currently in my environment there are about 60GB of passwd .log files.

Looking forward to your reply.

    Hi,

The passwd.log file only records the user account logon behavior, and the password behavior, such as the password modification, and the password improperly keyed in.

    1. The passwd.log file does not record any information for the password itself. It will not contain the password text, or encrypted password text.
    2. The passwd.log file could be removed safely from the system.

Review this Link for the security vulnerable regarding the password here, take a backup and review passwords and can be emptied. cc751383(v=technet.10)

    Hope this helps.
