Encryption of data in transit when uploading to Sharepoint

Hi all,

I've been asked to find out about how secure is to store sensitive (personal data, etc) data in SharePoint. A client is currently using SFTP for getting/uploading those data but SharePoint would be a better option if secure.

I know that data in rest are encrypted... however, I'm not sure about how are the files protected when uploading them via any internet browser or directly when using mapped/synced folder to a computer.

Any advice? :)

    Hi @michal ,
For SharePoint, you can rely on its information protection. And you can perform data protection by setting different Permissions in the site.
Regarding the data security issues you mentioned in the file uploading process, this is related to your network environment.
Generally speaking, if your network environment is clean, the firewall is turned on, the official anti-virus software is used, and the software is updated regularly, the chances of data security problems will be greatly reduced.
If you still want to know more detailed information, it is recommended that you open a ticket to contact Microsoft for more direct help, thanks for your understanding.
