Hello,

I reviewed the clients settings and understand that for Endpoint protection with this setting

The System center endpoint protection will get installed.

But for the BranchCache with this settings

why I got a BranchCache Service installed... what is the settings to say yes or not to this?

Thanks,
Dom

    Hi, @Duchemin, Dominique

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.

I did a quick test about this, if I set "Configure BranchCache"=Yes and "Enable BranchCache"=Yes, the BranchCache Service installed and the BranchCache is enabled on client.

If I set "Configure BranchCache"=Yes and "Enable BranchCache"=No, the BranchCache Service installed too but the BranchCache is not enabled on client.

So set "Configure BranchCache"=Yes make the BranchCache Service installed.

BranchCache is part of the OS and not installable or uninstallable. You can't equate the configuration of one feature to another; they are completely unrelated. Thus, regardless of your ConfigMgr configuration, BranchCache is always installed on your clients.

Also, the endpoint protection service is no longer installed or used on supported client OSes as the ConfigMgr client agent can directly manage Windows Defender without it.
