Hi all,

I have a student Azure account and previously saw a link in my Home page to create a B series VM with 750 free hours. But now I cannot seem to find that link anymore. Does anyone know? Thank you!

    Hi @Eddie
I didn't find any official document that informs that the B family cannot be created with a student signature

    reference: https://azure.microsoft.com/pt-br/offers/ms-azr-0170p/

    reference: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/azure-resource-manager/management/azure-subscription-service-limits

if you just can't find the option, you can click "see all sizes" when creating a new VM:

    and then, select B-Series:

If the option does not appear, youcan create a support request on:

Get in touch if you need more help with this issue.

    Hello @Eddie

Azure for students comes with 100$ credits. You can deploy 2 B1S VMs (one Windows, one Linux) and run it for 750 hours for free of cost. This might be 24 hours a day up to 750 hours or the total 750 free hours spread across 12 months period time (by turning it on only when used) is up to your choice. Below is the eligible VM size for student credit subscription.

When creating the free VMs you have to ensure you choose the image size and OS disc size that meets the free criteria as mentioned below.

You will start seeing charges when any one of the below scenario occurs:

    • Exhausted 750 free hours of free usage.
    • Instance image size and OS disc size does not meet the above free criteria.

Please find the below useful Azure free services link for your reference: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-in/free/students/

    Regards,
    Divya.
