AD Connect support server 2012 Domainn Controller environment

Question

Hi Support,

We have server OS 2012 Standard domain controller, so can i able to install Azure AD Connect to sync users.

or please let me know the recommended os version for domain controller to run Azure AD Connect.

Hi,

The recommendation is to install AAD Connect on a seperate server not on Domain Controller, infact any software should not be installed other then DNS and AD Roles.

Hello there,

-Azure AD Connect must be installed on a domain-joined Windows Server 2019 or later - note that Windows Server 2022 is not yet supported. You can deploy Azure AD Connect on Windows Server 2016 but since WS2016 is in extended support, you may require a paid support program if you require support for this configuration.
-The minimum .Net Framework version required is 4.6.2, and newer versions of .Net are also supported.
-Azure AD Connect can't be installed on Small Business Server or Windows Server Essentials before 2019 (Windows Server Essentials 2019 is supported). The server must be using Windows Server standard or better.
