I just had a new motherboard installed on my computer and the technician logged me in to Microsoft with the wrong name. I can access Microsoft Online, but not Office on my Desktop. I want to use the desktop version of Excel, not the app. I'm not sure if I'm explaining this correctly, but I hope it makes sense.

Thank you for your response. A little more detail:
I sign into Microsoft Online using my business email and am able to get Outlook and see the other Office programs, but I use the desktop version and that's what I can't get to. When I try to do what you say above, it says there isn't an account for my business email. The guy that changed my motherboard couldn't find an account with my business email (the correct one) so used the other one. I didn't understand what he was doing and the effect, at the time.

Did you mean you cannot open Office apps?
Did you get any error messages?
What version of Office did you use?
I suggest you try to repair the Office:

I also suggest you try to remove all Office Credentials from Windows, open Control Panel- select Credential Manager- under Web Credentials and Windows Credentials- remove all Office Credentials from list. Then re-start Windows and check if this issue still existed.

I cannot open the Office Apps except via Microsoft Online but I use the desktop versions, not the apps.
No error message except that I have to sign in to a different account in order to activate the programs. But when I try to do that with my business email (the correct one), it says I don't have an account.
No idea what version of Office I use.

I suggest you check the status of Office license in PC, please follow these steps:
Search CMD, right-click the Command Prompt and run as administrator. Then copy and paste the command, click Enter at last:
cscript.exe "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs" /dstatus
If you are running 32-bit Office on a 64-bit operating system:
cscript.exe "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs" /dstatus
If you can find the Office 365 product key in list, try to remove it by typing the following command with the Last 5 characters of installed product key (I replace it with XXXXX, but what you type in is what you see on your computer) in this interface:
cscript.exe "%ProgramFiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs" /unpkey:XXXXX
If the 32bit version of Office installed on a 64bit operation, run the following command:
cscript.exe "%ProgramFiles(x86)%\Microsoft Office\Office16\ospp.vbs" /unpkey:XXXXX
