Outlook 365 latest version does not close when clicking X

Every system I have visited with the latest Outlook 365 release V15427.20284 won't close when clicking the X in the upper right corner. It stays running. If we select File/Exit, it closes. Is there a GPO option that makes the X function as close rather than minimize?

    Hi @JustAnotherUser ,

    Welcome to our forum!

Do you mean that after you click X, Outlook will not close and keeps unresponsive, right?

If so, have you ever tried to start Outlook in safe mode mentioned by DillonJS?

As I know, there are many reasons for this situation, and it is recommended that you try the troubleshooting method mentioned in this article: Outlook not responding error or Outlook freezes when you open a file or send mail.

    Hope to help you!

Outlook functions just fine, it just doesn't close with the X. It simply relegates itself to the system tray and stays there. If I select File/Exit, it closes.
