Sharepoint links only open documents as read only

I share sharepoint links to documents to my group, and the links only open as read only. It previously opens to edit. Can anyone help to fix this?

1.Check you choose "Can edit" when sharing a file.

2.Check the file is checked in.

3.Check the file is published and approved.

The option was always on can edit on any links. No files where checked in or out.
