Disable auto-accept of meetings in Outlook

Hi everyone,

We have a kind of strange issue; an user has disabled the 'auto accept' option for meeting request. But when she is receiving a meeting request, the reqeust is still accepted automatically.

I have checked the option in Outlook 2016, but the option is not turned on. We see this behaviour in both Outlook as Outlook on the Web. I also checked the mailbox properties with Powershell in Exchange 365, but there is no option to disable this in Powershell.

Does anyone here know how to fix this?

According to your description, this issue occurs to user mailbox not resource mailbox and only one user encounters this issue, please correct me if I misunderstand your issue. Based on these, here are some troubleshooting steps for your reference:

Recreate outlook profile and check if this issue continues.
Check if there is any inbox rule or mail flow rule related with the issue.
Make sure if these meeting are accepted or just marked as tentative, here's a similar thread for your reference: How do I turn off auto accept invites in my calendar for Outlook 2010

there is no option to disable this in Powershell.

Yes, for user mailbox, we cannot use powershell command Set-CalendarProcessing to modify the AutomateProcessing parameter.

I already recreate the Outlook profile for this user

There are no inbox rules or mailflow rules in use

The meetings are not marked as tentative, but as accepted

So I'm out of options right now; I hope some here has a suggestion.

Does the user have a delegator who can access the user's calendar and accept the meeting request automatically?

Do you enable the mailbox audit log for the user? If you have enabled it, you could check who accesses the user's mailbox and modify something for the user. If you don't enable mailbox audit log, you could follow the guidance to enable it and check again.

I already have checked this. We already have removed all users who had access to the mailbox. No delegates are setup for this mailbox anymore.

What I see is 2 things:

when the user is receiving an invitation from a mailbox where she is delegate for, the request is accepted automatically.

when the user is receiving an invitation from a mailbox where she isn't delegate for, the request is not accepted automatically and the invite is in the Inbox.

I don't understand why this only is for mailboxes where the user is delegate for. This users don't have access to the mailbox of the user that is having the problem.

Hello JoyZhang-MSFT,

this is exactly what happens for this user. But it is strange that this only happens to her, 2 other user do have the same rights for calendars, and they don't have the problem. We do configure the calendar-access rights with Powershell (in Exchange 365). I think that user also configure delegates in Outlook, and the Outlook configuration causes this behaviour, not the Exchange/Powershell conifguration. Next week I will check this, I think that there is a difference here.

I did not have a change yet to check this, but I'm pretty sure that delegates are configured. Because this use manages the calendar of the manager and therefore accept invites. So in Outlook is configured that invites are send to delegates.
Have not checked this in Outlook, but it has to be configured.
