WslRegisterDistribudion failed with error: 0x80004005

Question

I am trying to install WSL 2 feature on Windows Server 2022 Standard (virtual machine) with build 20348.1070 described in

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/wsl/install-on-server. Unfortunately, I am still getting error message on screen.

I tried following things:

• switch from Ubuntu to Debian distro
• Install all Windows updates
• additionally enable HyperV
• Set automatic startup for LxssManager service
• use command Enable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName Microsoft-Windows-Subsystem-Linux
