Event user message "BITS client 16398. A new BITS job could not be created. The current job count is equal to or greater than job limit specified through group policy.
How do I fix? I am a private user, not linked to any other computer network.

    Hello,
Are you running Pro, education, or Enterprise?
If so open the Group Policy Editor (Start, run, gpedit.msc)

Go down to Local computer Policy, Computer configuration, Administrative Templates, Network, Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS)
Look for the policy listed as Limit the Maximum number of BITS Jobs for this computer
Is this value configured? By default is it not, If I recall properly the default value is 60.

You can also check the registry( Start, Run Regedit)
    HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\BITS

Are there any setting under that key? MaxJobsPerUser would be the value you are looking for
Does it exist and if so what is the value?

    Thanks
    Darrell

    I followed your steps.
When I reached the end, screen said BITS not configured.
I clicked on configure, and 300 appeared in the box.
    I hit apply and ok.
Hope I did the right thing.
