Server 2022 situation

Hello,
I am trying to setup folder security on my 2022 server and it is not working as on my other 2019 servers. The 2022 server is fully patched and standard.

Here is what I setup. I have a folder called "Files" and I have shared it as Files$. I setup a Security group for the users and put all the user in the group. This new group has read access to Files$. Under the Files folder are folders for each user. I have set the security on each folder to allow only the user assigned to that folder to have access. I have disabled inheritance for all the folders in Files$.

I have given each user a shortcut to \server\Files$\userfolder. This part works fine.

The problem is if the user goes up a level by clicking on the Files$ in the address field they are able to get into other users folders and delete or change files, and they are not if the security tab as having access. I have made sure the security group and the Everyone group is not in the security tab for each users folder so that should not be the problem. And all inheritance is turned disabled.

Am I missing something?

Hello

Thank you for your question and reaching out. I can understand you are having issues related to Folder access.

If you wish to Do not allow other users to see different user folder then you can use Access based Enumeration to hide folder.
